SummerTour2007 Day10

San Diego of today is fine weather as always.


Comic-Con International that is the festival of the comic of a maximum scale in U.S. is an end today.
Today is final day of comic-con international and Sunday. therefore, so many people came to SDCC.

I walked around in SDCC today as always.
And, I had the booth that had not been noticed.



Doug Sneyd
He is a great illustrator who drew the illustration of the PLAYBOY magazine in chiefly 50-70's.


Comic-Con International 2007 ended today. It parted reluctantly , saying that a lot of companions and "See you the next Con".
I will stay at my friend ED's house to night.
and I'll walk around in Hollywood area tomorrow.

SummerTour2007 Day9

Perhaps it will be long day today.
Today is important for me.
Because the biggest drawing session will hold in tonight!!

I go to the convention center as usual with the trolley.
It's fine today. and very hot today!!
but...SDCC is cold like the inside of the refrigerator!!
too much cooooooold!!

I do transfer in OldTown. This station is very beautiful.
And there is not a wicket at the station of Los Angeles and San Diego.

Food and drink is expensive at SDCC. I always bought bagel sandwich and fried chicken in Ralphs.

I visited Munkey King booth.
and I met Amanda Visell!!
I loveb her arts very much!!

In addition, I went to a lot of booths. However, today's main is a drawing session at night for me. Therefore, I report on the drawing session.
I arrived about 30 minutes late. A lot of Doodler had already gathered.

I am not making a head count. However, Doodler of 200-300 had come.


I returned at 4 AM. However, a lot of people seem to have returned at 6 AM.


I sampled Maru-C magazine of Japan.
Friends who received it were very pleased.



"WAO3" of my SketchBook was very popular in Drawing Session.
WAO3 was almost sold all on this day!!



Gary Ham
He is storyboard (concept art) artist of Anastasia and TeenTitan. And, the work is being offered to the Maxmam magazine etc. He is a very popular artist in the United States.


Sue Kotowich
Her art is very cute. She is an artist active in California as the character designer.


Arberto Ruiz
He is very great artist who live in New York.
However, he always has me laugh very friendly.


Rodolphe Guenoden
His sketchbook is sold all at the usual early stage. My friend was not able to buy his sketchbook this time.




In addition, I exchanged doodles by many doodlers.
I like to talk with Doodler.
My English is very unskilled. However, a lot of Doodler hears what I speak.



It is the final day of Comic-con International tomorrow.

SummerTour2007 Day8

Day3 of Comic-Con International.
My room has only one bed. However, four people are staying in this room.
Therefore, we have divided the sleeping time.
I update the blog at midnight and sleep in the morning. Therefore, it is about at 2:00PM that I arrive at the hall.
The shop to which I go without fail before I go to the hall is Ralphs.
I met such a woman here!!

She is not professional actress! wow great!


The hall is full today. However, I went to a lot of booths today.


Bill Presing
He is a storyboard artist in the PIXAR animation studio. his artworks are really awesome!!




Chris Sanders
He is a character designer of Lilo and Stitch.
His work is very popular. Therefore, he is very busy. However, he enjoyed talking with me for about 30 minutes.



Tim Biskup
I didn't think that I was able to meet him. However, I was able finally to meet him by waiting for about 30 minutes in his booth.

I met CATWOMAN!!


I'll go to Special Drawing Session tomorrow night!!

SummerTour2007 Day7

Day2 of Comic-Con international.
I decided to do during this morning in off hours.
The time that had been enhanced by washing clothes, updating the blog, and sending information to Japan...
The hall of Comic-con is very huge. And the floor is concrete. I can't be in the hall from the opening to the close.
Because it becomes tired too much.

I can get on the trolley from the hotel at 3 minutes on foot.

I must 2 times transit. and will arrive at the convention center in　about 30 minutes.
and I met many friends or artists today too.

Bobby Chiu & Kei Acedera
They are a digital artists in Canada and contract artists of Art Desk Pro. The subway sketch not to mention their arts is a masterpiece.

SummerTour2007 Day6

We went out of LA at 8AM, and arrived at San Diego around 12:30PM.
I came to San Diego to participate in "Comic-con International in San Diego".
The preview night starts at 5PM today. Therefore, we should prepare the booth at a rush. Quite a lot of comic fans came though there were only three hour preview night.

The core fan comes to buy the preview night limited product, therefore they come to Comic-con the first day.
I decided also to come round friends' booths.


Louie del Carman
He does a quick draw to my guest book first every year. I love his beautiful watercolor very much!!


Robh Ruppel.
We met for the first time actually though we had already been talking by the Internet for several years.


A lot of SW characters have come to the hall because this year is an anniversary of Star Wars 30th.


Comic-Con is not only a comic or a cartoon. Game promotion is very exciting!!

I will meet a lot of friends and artist tomorrow. Enjoyment!!
