My Comfortable Space

I made Paper theater this year too.
The front side was open in last year's paper theater. However, this year's paper theater is a complete blockage type.


An internal structure is composed of two rooms.


There is the woods and the background of the sky in the interior.


When light enters it from the ceiling from among the room, the interior became more beautiful.


A warm room of the paper theater looks better when the environmental lighting is darkened.


The secret where it looks warm it in the room is this penlite. ;)

Autumn US Tour 2009 [day00]

'Three Apples’ Exhibit Celebrates All Things Hello Kitty For 35th Anniversary running from October 23 to November 15 at Royal/T in Culver City, CA. I visited America because I had been invited to VIP party of this show.

I decided the visit to America one week ago. Therefore, it was not a situation in which the air ticket and the stay destinations were able to be chosen. However, it managed to obtain the airline ticket. (Special Thanks for my Great Manager : Kiyo!!)

It drew because there was a small bird at Narita's waiting time though it was an airport.

It's the morning about 10:30 that I arrived at Los Angeles. The passport control and Baggage Claim were very smooth this time.

The hotel is a Figueroa hotel in the downtown. I haven't seen you for a long time. This hotel is used well as location with the movie and the TV drama in the indoor scene of an ethnical style.

The seat monitor of the airplane was out of order. In addition, four children were in a front seat.And, with the man of the left and lights the reading light. I was not able to sleep for that. Therefore, when it reached the hotel in Los Angeles at last, it took a nap at once for two hours.

It's a hamburger if i's said the United States after all.If it doesn't first eat this hamburger, English cannot be spoken well.
I ordered the fish dish and the salad. The half size of the United States is a full size of Japan. ummmmm....

Supper was finished, and I moved to the Culver city by taxi. The time required and the charge are almost proportional to the taxi of Los Angeles. It was almost 20 dollars because the time required to the destination was 20 minutes this time.

Here is the first maid cafe in the west coast. Terribly cute girls were very kind.
The outside of the hall and the inside had come until the person overflowed!

The organizer said, "More people come to the public opening".
The number of exhibitions is about 80 works. It became very good study for me.

Moreover, the layout and the exhibition method of the hall became references very much.
Some sculptures were exhibited. This work was very popular especially.

Artist's individuality is demonstrated enough as for any work. It is a really happy show.

The work of three people from my town Sapporo had been exhibited.

It seems to be ThreeApple limitation by all the 35th anniversary.

There was "Book (selection catalog by the curator)" in the inside, too!!

I wanted to see this very much!! Only the sculpture of two works was published.

I met some great artists!

Three Apples (an exhibition celebrating Hello Kitty)

Three Apples (an exhibition celebrating Hello Kitty) will be holding in 23th/October to 15th November at Los Angeles / U.S.A.
When I visited Los Angeles in summer, the participation offer of this show was received. Then, I exhibited the canvas work painted with the acrylic color and the sculpture made with the resin and poly putty.
These works can be seen in the exhibition. There is no publishing permission in the photograph to our regret yet. Therefore, after the 23rd, the photograph will be able to be shown. sorry!


The participating artist to this show has already been announced. Akiko Masuda and I participate from my studio. And, participation has been decided to Yumiko Kayukawa from Sapporo. It is very glad that three artists in the same town can meet in Los Angeles!!


VIP party is held on the night of the day before the public.　A lot of artist friends of me are participating. I might be able to meet popular artists in the west coast such as Gary Baseman,Amanda Visell and Simone Legno, etc..
The Exhibit hall is Royal/T. it is very hot and popular spot in Los Angeles area now. haha and It's Maid Cafe... as for me, it's first experience to visit Maid Cafe!!

I'm good! I'm alive!
The 26th exhibition of DIDO that is the group of the illustrator to whom I belong is held.

This exhibition is "One Night Exhibition & Party" of great popularity every year.
This event is an exhibition of the limit at night. However, the participating artist sells original goods and the work, etc.
And, DJ, VJ, and the band, etc. also participate as an exhibitor. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say, "Artist's cultural festival"!!

This year's site is an event hall of "FIESTA" in the mainstreet in Sapporo.
A very good, moderate area to access and the enhanced equipment are attractive places.

Rabbit That's Kidding

MunkyKing is very populer art toy shop in California / Los Angeles.
They will hold DIY PUSHER SHOW in 26.Marty - 12.April.
This PUSHER of art toy was designed by Thomas Hans. it's cute custom base sculpture.


I received the offer from MunkyKing. then I decided try to make my PUSHER.

This is the Original PUSHER.


as for me, I planed this Rabit type PUSHER.

There seemed to be a wide mouth in this sculpture when I saw PUSHER for the first time.

I dismantled all original parts. PUSHER is composed of such parts.
Left parts are parts of the face that can be exchanged.


Modification of PVC (vinyl material) is difficult.
Then, I decided to start from work to replace this PUSHER with the resin.

Preparation for operation first of all. The tear off along dotted line is drawn.

It cuts it with a cutter and an electric saw at a dash.
It seems to have dismantled a Thanksgiving turkey.

The head was cut into 2 parts. And, the body was divided into 4 parts.

Cut parts are sunk in silicon.
The silicon of the mold will be completed in about almost 12 hours (over night).

The resin is reproduced from this silicon type only once this time. Therefore, it's very easy to make silicon mold.

Original parts are pulled out from among the silicon mold. The amount of the content is measured by water.
Because PVC is a midair, the amount of the content is little.

Because mold is used only once, it's comfortable. hahaha
It doesn't worry even if the resin leaks somewhat. hehehe

These are reproduction of the resin that this pulled out.
It's low accuracy and there is no problem because there is no influence in modification even if air enters or there is somewhat gap.

"Softer PVC" was able to be replaced with "Harder resin" by this way.

Then, let's rebuild the reproduction.
it's very simple. A temporary detainment is done with quick glue in the beginning.
It undergoes plastic operation with the polypatty after that.
Bonding improves when Quick Glue is put in the polypatty a little.

One foot was cut at this stage. And, the foot was lengthened with the styrene board and the patty.
Moreover, the mouth cuts out to open it greatly and undergoes plastic operation on the intraoral with the styrene board.

Because the shape of an original arm did not match to my design, then I decided to make original arm. A plastic stick is used for the core. And, it undergoes plastic operation little by little with the polypatty.

The polypatty is a patty with high liquidity. However, when stiffening starts, it becomes a grainy. The bindieye like such a starfish can be done as a result.

The surface was cleaned with about the 400th sandpapers, and the body became such shape.
Parts of the ear and small parts such as tongues and teeth are made from the styrene board.

I made the plinth.
Concrete is put in the core and weight is adjusted.
The first surfacer was spread.
It becomes easy to find the ruggedness by surfacer of the gray.

When the ruggedness is found, the sanding is done. And, Surfacer is spread again. This repetition is done several times.

This is the 2nd Surfacer works.

It is easy for Suefacer of the gray to find the ruggedness. However, the color darkens when a light color is spread further.

Then, white surfacer is sprayed on surfacer of this gray.

The whole content of the work of pincers is imaginable in this.

I love to use TAMIYA COLOR (Acrylic)
It's cheaper, but there are a lot of colors and nice colors.

Masking was done dividing into some. It colored with the airbrush.
