SummerTour2007 Day19

I went to Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) to meet my friend Paul Davies in Culver City of Los Angeles.

The security check is strict.
However, the Visitor passing was smoothly obtained this time because how to receive it was able to be rehearsed with the other day's Nicolodeon.

Taking a picture is a prohibition in the building. Therefore, there is no

I heard about the way of his work from Paul. It was a very interesting story.
I learnt a lot of animator and programmers were related to the production of one short scene. And, the CG artist's work is really stoic and great patience!!

There is an electric shop that sells only the SONY product. The employee can buy the SONY product at a low price. We took lunch at the cafeteria in this town.

I moved to Gallery area of Culver city.


The administration advances "Art district" plan in CulverCity.
There seems to be an important hint for the art to take root in the town in
this town.


at first, I visited to Billy Shire Fine Arts of popular gallery.
The exhibition of Gary Baseman was held here.


The inside in this building is wooden. It is a gallery of a very wide, good
atmosphere. It is a wonderful space with the courtyard.

I moved to SIX SPACE of gallery.


The work exhibition of Carrie Marill was done here.

I moved to Gallery1988 of gallery.


This gallery is in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. It is one of popular
galleries among young people.


The next in this gallery is GoldenApple of my favorite comic shop.
I bought "5 for $1" comics!! hahaha

The voice message was in my cellular phone when coming round the gallery.
"Ordered glasses can already be prepared. Please come to a store at any time."

I went to "l.a. Eyeworks" of Melrose immediately!!


This is My NU eye glasses!!!!
I like Metal Frame. hehe I bought "PORKPIE" of Titan Frame Model.

The frequency of this glasses doesn't suit me....
THAT'S MAD DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!

The problem of my glasses is not yet solved.

And, the problem ･･･


I bought a lot of books with Comic-con. And, the souvenir and painting materials, etc.･･･I might have to pay the cost of the weight excess.

I decided... Today is Holiday in my Summer Vacation!!
at first, I took shower and washed my shoes.
This shoes are comfortable though it is very cheap.

I went to the Los Angeles group of the sketch crawl.
The sketch crawl is an online event that Enrico Casarosa of the PIXAR animation studio planned.
The participant in the world sketches in each region on the same day. And, it introduces each sketch with Sketch Crawl Forum.



Today was super HOT!!
and many member came here today.
oh, here is Venice Bearch.



Today was also the day of Festval of Chariots.
Music overflows on the beach!!



sketch crawl ended in about two hours. because very hot!!
However it's my limited!!



There are a lot of cute wall paintings in the United States.
If it is Japan, most is a mere advertising board. I feel the difference of the
culture here.

SummerTour2007 Day16

Glasses that had been lost yesterday were on the desk when I woke up.
If there is such a thing, I will be dance.

I went to the optician L.A. Eye Works of Melrose.
When glasses were made in the United States, I learnt the eye examination was necessary. It is necessary to go to the ophthalmology department for this shop.
Therefore, it introduces the ophthalmologist for me. (10AM)

I went to the glasses shop that was able to examine it 3 blocks ahead.
It wasn't possible to examine it. Because the reservation is full!!(11AM)

I went to the optician Lens Crafters of Beverly. It wasn't possible to examine it. Because the reservation is full too!!(12AM)

come on America!!!!!

YEY, I got reservation!! it's 4PM!

I have much time, then I went to Beverly Center for Lunch.
I enjoyed talking for about one hour with the woman who had been eating lunch
in the next seat. I presented her Mini card arts.



4PM, I returned eye exam.
and I met doctor. he seems like angry now...I don't know why he is angry....
However, he seems to hate Asian.
Because after examining in an interview had ended, he wrote in the memo column
so.....
"Speak--Japanese, English--Poor"

Hey!!!

We entered consultation room.
Eyesight is adjusted with temporary glasses.
Dr:what is this?
PM:ummmm little heavy...
Dr:Ok, what is it? (change lens)
PM:ummmm almost...
Dr:ummmm what is it? (change lens)
PM:too heavy...
Dr:WHAT!!!
PM:....why? I can't see better!!
There was a communication of about one hour.
55 dollars of the eye examination charge were paid, and this examination was finished.
I am worry that this medical examination result is correct or not...(5:30PM)

I returned to Lens Crafters. but almost closed this store...(5:40PM)
I decided go to L.A. Eye Works.
They are very kind. They said that they would wait for me until 8PM though
would close in 7PM the shop.
I bought glasses here. It is because it likes the design though it is a little
expensive. This bought glasses are completed on Tuesday. I can't wait.

I went to Santa Monica today.
My purpose is to buy the acrylic color by Michaels.
However, 3rd promenade is crowded because of fine weather.
I stop by various shops, and luggage has increased little by little.


Is there a day of cloudy weather in Santa Monica?


Two people who seem to be happy.


It's a very beautiful location.

I return to Hollywoos area...

The performance of some band performances was done here because it was a weekend today. I love here. because I like narrow road.

I lost my eye glasses today....ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
I don't know how to make nu eye glasses in america!

It overslept a little today.
and I went to Blick art material.


Today is the day od Weekly Sketchbook Session!
then, I went to Burbank!

It had already darkened when I arrived. It was late for one hour.


It is time of closing the store with surprising swiftness!!

SummerTour2007 Day13

My schedule of today is heavy!!!

I went to breakfast. and meet the Annie of Billy Shire Fine Arts.
She made arrangements that met Gary Baseman for me!!
AWESOME!!
Time passed for about 30 minutes. Gary came there.
I feel strong force!!

I presented my WAO3 to Gary. However, Gary seems always to take printed matter inversely.

and he did quick drawing for me!! Thanks Gary!!

I went to Burbank around 1:00PM.
The purpose is to visit the Nickelodeon animation studio!!

YAY, I love Nick!!


I got Guest Pass at entrance of Nickelodeon Animation Studio.


wow It's really Nick world!


Animator's Sponge Bob's Doodle was pasted to the mini kitchen of the sponge Bob team.


Jorge R. Gutierrez of executive director who invited me.
He is a director of El Tigre. El Tigre has not been telecasted in Japan yet. However, it was the enjoyment in me to meet this staff and the character.


I met Stive Lambe!! I like his arts very much!!



I met KatieRace!! She is very cuye girl. and kindness!!


and I got the quick draw by SandraEquhua of Wow Wow Wubbzy charactor designer!! She is wonderful. and super kindness!!

The staff of Nickelodeon is very kind. And, they ardently saw my work.
Thank you very much Nick friends!!
I wanted to stay in Nick. However, I couldn't obstruct their work.
I returned to Hollywood.

I will go to sketchbook session "Drink and Drawing" tonight.
When I visited Bar, several participants had already gathered.
This group is irregularly concentrated. They do the drawing that decides the theme every time and along the theme.

Tonight theme is "Robot".


I have not met them. However, Doodler can be made friends momentarily at the
time of met.


Doodler of several people drew me. hehehe. If the American sees me, it becomes it so.
